160 in a 100 zone ticket

okay well last january 26, 2006, i got caught on the 403 doing 160 in a 100 zone, the officer marked it down to 149 in a 100 zone. My set fine is $359. I went and booked for court of course, and i JUST got my court letter in the mail today, saying my court date is on the same day, january 26, 2007. That means that they are giving me a court date 1 year after my offense date... what can i do? isnt there something about charter 11b that they arent giving me a court date within 8 motnhs of the offense and therefore the ticket is cancelled or something? what you suggest i do? hire a lawyor?

nothing. if you want to use the 11b, then you need to fill out to proper forms and such, not just walk in there and deman 11b.

you need to educate yourself before you make yourself look silly.

BTW, I don't believe it's a 8 month time period. It's within a year, or 'reasonable time"

You can go to court and plead not guilty.

Of course, when you do that, they can bring your original speed back into evidence, then convict you on that speed, and then impose fine, demerit point, and possible license suspension penalties based on that original speed.

i hate it when a cop give you a ticket for 10-15 over the limit when you're not even zooming in/out between lanes and endangering others... but 60 over is a lot.... what was the reason? =)

btw, get a lawyer... unless you know how to play court rules

Hate to say it, but this website is dedicated to Honda performance. Are you so astonished that we have found a speeder? 160 isn't even that fast. In the middle of the night on 400 series highways that I know well this is my cruising speed. I enjoy driving and I imagine the author of this thred is no different. Don't get me wrong, I respect safety, for myself and everyone esle. I have never had an accident or a speeding ticket in my 6 years as a licenced driver. I think that traffic weaving and daytime street racing is just plain dumb. However, a little spirited driving will make you appreciate life.
My advice: Face the music. You broke the law man. Just don't get caught next time...

I got ticketed for 106 in an 80 zone, brought it down to 15 over....but the thing that i hate is; this road, which i drive on every flippin day, if i cruize at 100, I'M the one holding up traffic and everyone is passing me!!! WTF!!!??? Big dump trucks and every other imaginable car goes AT LEAST 110-120 on that road, and I get pulled for 106!!!???

harasment and discrimination of vehicle type?.....yeah......

dude! this site is dedicated to honda performance, but performance to be performed on a track... yes... many does 160... and yes 160 isn't that fast to you, for me or maybe some people here... but yes 160 can be fast to majority of the "REGULAR" people... picture your mom is driving at night and this guy drives 180 and hits her by accident... what will you say? speeding is speeding!! enough said....

now in response to your 2nd half... do the spirited driving on a track... or adjust your spirit haha... can't you enjoy driving at 100km/hr?

well... all those street races comes from people being too spirited hahaha... too ignited like that hahaha

Save the spirited driving for the track. If you can't control your spirit, then consider other methods of transportation.

i dont know why all you guys are getting so hyped up, im not arguing with the cop or talking **** about the police for ticketing me, there doing there job, i dont give 2 ****s. I just wanna know how to fight it, i talked to ontario ticket fighter place they said $300 to have it completely removed, no convction no fine no points. (The cop didnt get me on radar, he followed me and he didnt even get CLOSE to my car cause im watchin my rear view like 80% of the time im driving so as soon as i saw those crown vic lights coming i switched lanes n braked and he put his lights on and said ... at one point i matched you going 160 with me... And then he saw my university books and felt bad i guess and marked it down

I hear you guys about the spirited driving... But there is a difference between "sprit" and wreckless driving. Passing people doing 180 is asking for death. However, I just can't leave a 407 entry ramp alone at 3am on a sunday. I also get excited about an empty patch on a long drive to Kingston. There must be someone else that agrees with me...
