I have heard this too but i assure you that it is NOT true....I was hit by a driver with no insurance and it ended up being a 3car collision so it got very complicated.

Even if he has no insurance it has no effect on who is at fault or not at fault...YOUR insurance company makes the call on whos fault they think the accident is and it really makes no difference whthere there insured or not.

The best thing would have been to call the police (even though it was a small accident) because if he really did have no insurance they would have charged him on the spot and its a $5000 fine.

New bumper, painted, I would imagine in the neighbourhood of 700, cause I was quoted once 850, and that's include re-bar and labour.

As for 50/50 fault, I believe you are either no fault, or you are at fault. 50/50 won't reduce anything much. But I do encourage you disclose the information and explain the situaiton (which you probably already have done).

^^^ 850 ouch... all he would need is a bumper cover maybe your lookin around just shy of $500 (w/paint) my rear bumper cover only cost me 270 thats oem. I hope the best of luck.. as long as your both understanding it always helps.

Nope, it doesn't work like that at all. It just means he could be charged for that item, but it doesn't affect fault by one iota as far as the collision goes.

haha lol, the only thing with my car was leaving it with no ebrake on and backing into another car in a parking lot, the rest were done at work in work cars. but trust me, if u had to do some of the crazy parking and parking back end non stop wherever u went lol, ud have made a few mistakes too.
