tranny mount bolts stripped need help
i had a new tranny installed on my car when i got the car back it had a wierd knocking noise
i could not figure it out until last week i looked thouroughly and notice that the lower motor mount thats bolted to the bottem of the fraim was loose
thought mayb the mech forgot to tighten it .... nope i tried tightening the bolts and they just spin tried loosening and they spin so i noticed that there was a lot of play they move up and down a bit so i get pliers to try and pull em out seeing as though it would appear there not still threaded can not get em out spent a long time on em
i cannot figure it out my best guess is that what ever is threaded inside the chassy has come loose on both bolts due to over torqing or whatever theres no way to access inside the frame without cutting holes
anyone have any suggestitons,, has this happened to anywyas,, i guess the biggest thing for me is what are the steps i take now to fix this problem can i do it my self .. i need some help ......
im kinda pissed because the mechanic who did it didnt even tell me... atleast have the ***** to let me know that it was like that ..everyone makes mistakes but atleast own up to em .. but anways lol any help would be usefull
thankyou

if thats the same mount im thinkin of it has a nut welded inside the frame. Only real thing u can do is cut two small holes into it which would allow you to put new bolts in there and slip a nut on it. Why dont u go back to the shop and get em to fix it?

yeah i wanted to because there is clearly no way he didnt know he did that ...problem is its far and i cant get insurance on it i had a day of coverage when i took it in for that work.. they wont give me another one i could wing it and drive there but something is bound to happen with my luck.. so before i go a head with anything is there any alternatives .. what you think if i tac weld the mount i dont think it undergos alot of pressure like the other mounts would this be ok ?
i was thinking if i ever have to change the mount i grind the welds off .. i love doing things right but i am kind of screwed for options right now ..
by the way thanks for the replys guys
and also if i do get that same mechanic to do it what should i expect or be ready for cost wise??
