Hey all just wondering if any of you have used Avid or ETD traction bars? they both claim to be the industry best but one is cheaper than the other . It will get used for road racing in my case so i want good stuff.
Anybody have any feed back other than the usual you get what you pay for?

Not really neccessary for road racing. More for drag racing and launching hard with big slicks and big hp...

89 ef stock 1.6 with si gear box fully caged tein shocks and springs not sure on rates yet but it was the road race" package" stock front sway bar and stock rear sway bar adjustable front and rear camber frt camber @ 1.5degrees rear @2 degrees. I have been told by a few road races and lappers that it makes the front end feel more predictable and of course there would be weight loss and when your dealing with SOHC 1.6 on pump fuel you need all the help you can get! upgrading to a new 24mm rear sway and trying to figure out what sway bar will fit the front as well

Sounds like you have a nice solid chassis. With just the stock little sohc, I wouldn't worry about needing traction bars. It's not like you're making huge hp and the front controll arms are trying to be being ripped out...lol

If you haven't already done so, install eurethene suspension bushings and try that out.

avid has poor header clearance the etd is what im using no complaints so far very nice unit.

get rid of the front sway bar (will help u in the corners), and buy a type r, rear 22mm sway bar.
found some for $100.00 with great bushings
