Tokico shocks and Sk2 Sleeves?
 

Heres the dealioo.
I currently have Skunk 2 Lowering Springs with Tokick Blue shocks,
I want a bigger drop as i am not satisfied with these, i know its possible to put the skunk2
sleeves onto the Tokico Blues, But In your honest opinion will they blow? or am i better off with
stock Shocks with the sleeves. ? :confused:

It's not the drop that will blow the shocks, is their inability to control a spring rate that is too stiff for what they were designed to handle.

Also the lower spring perch on the stock shocks may not be low enough for the drop you want. Your might be better off getting a set of shocks that have the sleeves.

If you're buying coilovers in a few months, why bother with the hassle of finding something with more drop, and doing the labour? Also, driving lower in this time of year sucks. Just save your money, wait it out, and buy something better when spring rolls around.

Found Skunk2 Pro S II for 800 and yonaka for 600.
Any personal experience with the yonakas.?:confused:

I wouldn't touch Yonaka for any suspension stuff. Suspension is a HUGE part of your car, not something to cheap out on. If you're just looking for lowering and don't care about dampening adjustability, also check out Tein Basic coilovers, or even PIC Apex coilovers (although they have a strong tendency to seize from what I've seen). They are both ride-height, but non-dampening adjustable. I have no personal experience on the PICs but the TEINs ride really nice on the street.

Yonaka is a cheap knock off brand. Im with kaval, i wouldnt go anywhere near that stuff.

Before or after installing on car, remember to ****** some anti seize on it, PICs do tend to seize. Don't just dab it on, here and there, be generous. That stuff is pretty cheap.

When you read suspension reviews, think about where it's coming from. Anyone on the world wide interwebs with 1000 posts can come and say "yo bro these coilovers are SSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSICK"
And that's the review, lol! You don't know if they are happy with the coilovers cuz they slam the car to the ground, or they are happy cuz the ride is 'comfy.' Quality suspension isn't just about that. Yonaka may allow you to lower the car a lot and ride half decent, but it's all subjective to how many other setups you've driven on and how much experience you've had.

There's certain things that I don't mind buying from a knock-off brand, but things like suspension and engine components I would never take a chance with.

Buying used coilovers isn't something I'm a fan of personally, but if it fits your budget, go for it. Then you can use that money for some new bushings or other stuff you need.

Some cheaper components made by less-popular companies are actually good products. But it's difficult to determine because generally people are affraid to buy cheaper stuff from less-popular companies. Or they think because someone had a bad experience with one of their products, that ALL their products are crap. A reasonable assumption to make, but not always necessarily true.

You can take a chance and try them, it's up to you.

Personally i think the skunk 2 pro s r just as rough if not worse but require a different spring to go lower than the factory spring mounted on the coilovers(shocks).
But i might give them a shot, And ya KAVAL i completly understand lol, but there was a actual writeup on it done by a mechanic i saw a few daysback said ride is a bit stiff for dd but it gives a great drop. Thanks
