seized rlca
hey guys i was trying to put on my coilovers this evening and the bolt on the shock broke after a hassel and a half i managed to take it out by removing the rlca bushing itself and the bolt was fused to the metal inside the bushing, i temorarly made replacement for that metal to get home. i tried to take out the rlca itself but the bolt on that is worn (the ratched doesn't get a grip and im sure if i get something to get a grip itll breaK) so i think my only option is getting a new bushing and the metal piece inside the bushing no? what do i do ? thanks
also are these a rip off or should i get just 2 stock rear ones? Energy Suspension Hyper Flex Master Bushing Set 92-95 Honda Civic

Easiest solution is to just replace the lca's and get aftermarket ones. Same thing happened to me. i had to replace the rear LCA's with aftermarket ones. You could just replace the bolts and bushings, but it might take you a lot of time to push that bushing into the lca. Good luck!

happens all the time...the best thing to do is rip the lca's off and buy aftermarket ones, ide just hope that the bolts on the trailing arms arent seized too...theyre a b*tch...im sure they're lots of good brands that sell no more than 200 though. plus they look sick.

the bushing in the lca can be replaced but only honda carries the bushing. I think it goes for around 30 or so. It needs to be burned out with a torch and the metal piece of the bushing will pop out. You'll need a press to push the new bushing into place. look for a diy on the net first before trying anything.

You don't need a press or torches to remove the LCA bushing.
IMO, replacing the whole arm just to change a $30 bushing isn't smart. Put a socket on the outer race, hammer out the bushing. Note how far the bushing was pressed into the arm and hammer it back in.

one of the bolts on the lca is worn and im afraid the rest of the bolts on it will snap off too, but yah if they opened i think itd be much easier to replace the arm itself. ahh man if i get the control arms is there any one here that would help me replace em, i have tools and if needed ill pay something for the trouble.

Wouldnt that depend on how bad the bushing is stuck? Mine was in there good. snapped 4 or 5 saw blades trying to get that bolt off. still didnt budge. After we removed the lca with the shock still attached, the shock didnt even move at all.

If the bushing is seized just heat up the arm a bit. Trust me, I've hammered out thousands of bushings.
It'll take 2 minutes to replace a bushing. It'll take 30 minutes to replace the arm, plus it'll cost 5x as much.

JESUS CHRIST, that bushing is NOT coming out, i've tried heating it as much as i can, i've tried screw driver and hammer, i've tried dremel and cut some pieces off of it. the only thing i can think of is the grind the bushing into dust from the inside. any ideas what i can use to get this job done? or if there are any volunteers to help me out i'd really appreciate it. thanks in advance

If this was at the shop, I would heat the arm up nice and hot, get my air hammer our with a chisel end piece and knock it out.
Try using a chisel and a hammer. It'll be very tedious though. That's one rough looking bushing.
