omnipower users, check this out

dont really post much on here but i thought i would share what i found after i was working on my car yesterday as a warning to anyone else using omnipower coilovers.

i stored the car for a year when i left for korea. now that im back i have a feeling this happened at a track day before i left when i spun out hard into the grass. as you can see, the front passenger coilover has literally broken in to two pieces cleanly, where it connects to the shock fork.

supposedly this issue has been "corrected" with their new coilovers. hmm... im currently in the process of getting them warrantied with omnipowerusa.

yeah, they're replacing the collars for free... a well known fact? i guess if you are on the forums constantly checking for updates. what about for the poor sap who isn't internet savvy and thinks they bought a good product then has their wheel fall off on the track? im sure there are other defective ones out that still haven't broken yet or are on the verge of. truthfully, i had driven the car around for a few days prior to this and hadn't really noticed a difference because i wasn't driving fast. all i needed was the moment i hit speed bump too fast and there could have been a lot more damage than just a broken collar...

damn. thats just plain dangerous. I hate for someone to have a serious accident as a result of something like this. They should do a recall of their products to avoid lawsuits

midori, just email them. they were pretty quick in getting back at me. not sure if they'll replace them without proof of being damaged though - i had to send them pics.
