Koni Yellows - Question - pic included

Hi all,

I was wondering if the coilover portion of the yellows is removable? I've never played around with shocks before or removed/installed them so I don't know much about them. I would like to remove the coilovers and install lowering springs..is it possible for the current setup (pics bellow)? If the threads are not removable..do I just bring it all the way to the bottom and install the springs.

thanks
