installed new springs - still sits too low
 

anyone ever run into a problem similair to mine?

a year ago i noticed that one side of my rear tires sat lower than the other side by about a finger. It's now both sides in the rear that my car sits too low.

we replaced the spring on the driver side with a brand new oem on and it's still the same. the driver side is actually still a little bit lower than the passenger side.

the shocks are okay and everything else looks okay, but i basically can fit 1 finger between the tire and the car on both sides of the read and three fingers between the front tires and the car.

i don't park on a flat surface, I don't know if that might have anything to do with it.

Anyone seem this problem before?

How are the roads locally that you drive on?

fine. Scarborough, Richmond Hill, Markham, and highways.

keep in mind in the front the drivers side will always be heavier thus sag lower then the passanger. engine driver side, tranny passanger side.. tranny light engine heavy
i know countless people who have always complained about that, even me when i had my stechs. full coilover now and problem solved

we put brand new springs, and it sits exactly as low as it did before.

i can put one finger between the tire and the wheel well for both rear tires.

all the suspension is stock.

Something Heavy in the trunk? Water possibly? check the spare tire area.

Nothing heavy enough in the trunk to make a difference.

take it to a mechanic :) lol

your advice is perhaps the best yet. i did.

try and do things right the first time, after that, i reach for what i can find.

are you sure the shocks are fine did you check if your drivers sides is blow(see if any liquid comes out when you compressthe shock)

if your car is sagging to one side i doubt itd be the springs most likely the shock is blown

ORRRRR perhaps you ran over a bigbump and your shock didnt comeback out

i say to first see if theres any moisture around your shock than go to the mechanic

the original post says the shocks are okay, this means they are okay and not that they weren't checked.

so you've taken it to a mechanic, they can't find the problem so your asking people on TCC...

try a different mechanic for a second opinion

Wheel openings in the rear aren't as large as in the front, check "levelness" from the pinch welds along the bottom sides of the car. Appearances can be deceiving.

Also, not to be a jackass, but how much fuel is in the car?

Final suggestion is to check the freedom of pivot bolts inside of bushing sleeves. When the bolts rust to the interior sleeves your initial suspension travel can be entirely the twist in the bushing. This not only murders your bushings and makes their subsequent removal a nightmare, but can make the empty auto sit at bizarre levels.

The aforementioned post about the side to side is also true, the engine sits to the USDM driver's side. It makes no financial sense to make a left front specific spring, so our cars get a lean to the left. Solve with a suspension that you can adjust cornerweights on (ride height and preload).

maybe there isn't a problem... and it just has to due with the non flat surface you park on soooo the car is just naturally sitting lower

or do you have a smaller tire on that side lol
