If I remember correctly its clockwise to stiffen. But why dont you turn it to one extreme, take it for a test drive, and then turn it to the other extreme, and test drive again. Then compare which feels stiffer.

Coilovers question

Guys ,

I have a set of coilovers with me no name brand I would have to say as I do not see any names on it when I bought them brand new and it came in a white box. It does say for 92-95 civic on the box.

My question to you guys is can I simply hook these up in my car? Will this be OK to do ? I am only thinking of taking off the stock springs and replacing them with the coilovers.

Please let me know if I should go ahead with this job.

Thanks in advance .

Rgds,
Sharaj

hey guys I have a quick question
I have an eg hatch
and the supension I have is tickio 5 way adjustable
with H&R race springs and they are supose to drop 2.5"
but I think it dropped more then that since my wheel is tucked in on the front about .5"
and most of the pictures I have seen with the same set up
their wheels are not even tucked and they have 15" rims
but my 14" rims are tucked
why ??
I think the person gave me the wrong springs but not sure

I dont plan on racing, just daily driver, I would like a littie lower on stance and I don't really want to sacrifice ride comfort

so whats the best setup between these 2

full coil over

shock/spring

comfort first =p though if it is possible to get some more performance @ oem feel that would be great ^^

For starters, why don't you read a few pages back, and maybe it has already been answered.

Speaking of coilovers, does anyone know or recommend good competent shops where they can do good alignments for our Honda's?

Specifically someone who can tune "toe angles" to prevent un-even wear on our tires?

Thanks

BTW Preferably close to/in Brampton.

BTW: Here was the article where they said camber kits are not needed, you just need to fix the toe angle and you will be perfect.

We can do alignments for you. We have access to one of the best machines on the market for this very purpose. In Brampton.

Eibach VS Tein

I'm having a tough time choosing which way to go when lowering my car. I'd like either the Eibach pro kit springs and shocks found here:
http://www.optionsauto.com/prodinfo....r=EIB-4018.840
http://www.optionsauto.com/prodinfo.asp?number=EIB-4018

Or I'd like to one of Tein's coilover kits:
http://www.optionsauto.com/prodinfo....IN-DSH98-KUSS2
http://www.optionsauto.com/prodinfo....IN-DSH98-LUSS2

Ride quality and reliability is what I'm looking for. I know Eibach is really popular, and I do like their pro kit. However I hear really good things about Tein, but I dont know anybody using them. Any help would be awesome.

Thanks guys!

Hey guys. I'm gonna go get an alignment probably @ 2Join...maybe...im gonna shop around for good places...

I just got some new KONI Yellows + Ground Controls (f=400lbs, r=450lbs) and it rides nice! I haven't even touched the damping ability from the factory and it already rides nice. Doesn't feel hard so far (haven't driven far, just near my neighbourhood where there are big bumps)....

It doesn't float too much either. Seems leveled. Body roll I had tons stock (no sway bar), but now body roll is something of the past.

A complete detail later on...

I would go with Tein. never had anyone comeback to me with any problems. easy adjustment and they look great. Ride performance when tuned is fantastic. Never been an eibach fan having worked with them in the past.

Okay thanks. So you're referring to the SS coilovers over the basic kit?

SS coilovers I believe offer more dapning adjustablitly and come with top hats.

I have always been a Eibach fan, and with the release of their true coilover kits now, I'll be looking into a set myself.

Tein is good, but have been known to sag with their spring kits as other spring manufactures have done so as well. Only issue i've ever heard with Tein full coilovers is rusting on the shock body.
I think they fixxed that issue, not 100% sure though.

Alright guys, thanks for all the info. Its hard for me to choose, but I think it'll come down to cost. If i knew that one brand is definitely better than the other, but since I hear good things about both brands, and they're relatively the same price, I'll just go with the ones I can find for cheaper

thanks again

I've had a few setups on a few different cars.

1990 integra LS: KYB AGX with maxspeed coilovers.

I'm not sure why they felt as smooth as they did, but I was really happy with that setup. I'm an average driver with an average tolerance level for roughness, and it was fine. even after 3 years of use.

1993 Civic CX" KYB AGX and goldline springs. VERY nice ride. good adjustability and comfortable for every day use. I had the GL 2" drop with these. I solo'd the car egularily, and the setup was durable

1996 civic cx/ tokico hp with goldline gps. 1.5" drop. Very good for the time I had it. Firm but comfortable. Dont know about long term though. More body roll with the lighter spring and non adjustable shocks. Also solo 2 use. Seemed to hold up quite well.

1993 Acura Vigor. koni red shocks on Canuck motorsport springs. Very nice riding, cant complain and koni reliability. Firm springs, similar to H&R Sports. Firm but comfortable on the massive pimp wagon.

1990 integra GS. H&R sport with KYB GR2. I honestly cheaped out on this setup. The H&R'
s are quite firm. I drove on these for a year or so, and they were okay, but you could tell the shocks were being overworked. It wasnt bouncy, but after another year it may have been. The H&R oe sport or neuspeed sofsport might have been a better choice.

1999 integra. Stock springs and shocks and GSR sways front and back.. Love it!

Looking to install Tein S Tech springs properly

I live near Square One in Mississauga and drive a 97 HB CX. I've already got a price quote from mike down the street on Erindale Station rd (forget the name of the place).

He told me $400 for the camber kit (washer trick for the back) + labour and $100 extra if the back bolts are seized.

The springs (Tein S-Tech) will be going on stock shocks (I know - do it right the first time however I'm willing to pay labour twice when I am able).

While I am waiting for mike to ask the guy he will get the camber kit from for an actual price, is there anyone near me that is willing to do it for cheaper or around the same price but already have a camber kit ready?

PM me or respond with quotes. Thanks

that price sounds good but the problem with mike is he rushes his work a lot. if you get it done for any cheaper then i'd question the quality of the parts. make sure you tell mike to cut the bump stops when he lowers your car because he didn't cut mine way back in the day when i had him lower my car. s-techs are fine with stock struts. they were designed to be able to work with stock struts so you shouldn't have any problems. you'll probably want to go lower later on though since s techs give a pretty mild drop.
