Ceased Trailing Arm Bolt!!!!

I was trying to do a rear disk brake on my 98 DX. having difficulty getting Bolt #20 off! it seems like it is ceased and rusted from inside and it's very hard to turn. I'm scared I migth be striping it! Any idea how I can get this off? Is there any way to reach it from the top maybe to spray some PB blaster on it?

tnx

get a torch and heat that up nice and red, you could try one of those hand held propane ones not sure how well they work but heat it up it should be good.

ya man be very carful, if you turn to hard you'll break the bolt by ripping off the head. Try the yello propane torch or put it back together drive to a shop and have them lossen it for you. cant be to much but buy another bolt from honda just incase it breaks.

since the threads are into the body and are not a welded on head you should be very careful. id try some good penetrating spray a few times let it eat in there and wait as long as you can keep spraying it all along.. then a good impact gun or something bigger than a reg. socket.. you should be able to tell if the bolt is going to break by feel..
if all else fails then torches..

Bring it to a shop and tell them to use the acetylene torches and an impact to fire it off. If you snap that thing, you'll be having fun trying to drill it out

god a propane torch would be a waste of time. You'll never get it hot enough.

What kind of torch were you using? If you broke it after using the torch on it, then you used it wrong.

I find pb blaster more effective than liquid wrench. Ended up buying a compressor & gun and it took it off no prob! Worth every penny!

you have to break the head off, then you have to cut the nut that is welded on to the back of the shock. After that you have to bend the fork portion of the shock off of the broken/cut parts of the bolt, then you have to remove the bushing and the bolt as an assembly. This is because the bolt is seized in the bushing not in the threads. No amount of oil or penetrating lube will take it out. so you will need a bolt, a nut and a new bushing. Get the stock bolt, but the nut is not available because the car has the nut welded to the shock, this is not available from honda you need to get a generic nut for it. The job req a set of torches hack saw, and about an hour a side. I have done too many to count and have tried all different ways. any questions just send me a pm.
