Ball Joint remover

hi

I am in the process of changing my ball joint and I need a remover (actually pressing it out) so that i can put the new one in. Does anyone have a remover that I can borrow (in markham area) or know of a method that I can press it out without taking it off the car?

thanks

You may be able to rent one from Canadian Tire. Or if you are near a princess auto you can get one there decently cheap.

The ones at canadian tire suck. There is a special cup you need for lower balljoints for honda.

I'd just hammer it out.. Take the whole spindle off, put it in a vise or wedge it against a wall, put a socket that fits the outer race and hammer away.

Or just take it to a shop with a press and cough up 40$

Yes there is a kit for removing and installing them. So since you don't have one, just get ready to hammer the **** out of it, just wait till you have to put it in, because you should not hammer on the new one.

A pickel fork found works the best removing the b-joint spindle. A hammer route works best. Take the old nut and thread it just enough to make it flush with the thread on the old ball joint and get a decent size hammer and hope you don't have garden snakes for arms. haha
