the first one is a highlight blast..the second one is more decent and has better exposure. is that your dad in the pic

you might want to work on focusing on a particular subject and soften the rest of it.

also the sharpest part of the image is his helmet, which i don't think is the intended subject focus.

how fast can your camera shoot? with that much light output try shooting at 1/1000 or faster maybe with a flash too.
