What camera to buy

Hey, I'm new to the photo scene and would like some recommendations on a good quality mid range Cannon camera. Thanks.

Any Canon SLR is sick. For example the Rebel 300D, XTI, XSI.

Nikon is just as great.

What do you plan on doing with the cam?

It's just gonna be a hobby thing for now. I doubt I'll turn pro. I'll check out those camera's you mentioned. I have a good hook up at Cannon (at cost) so I'll likely go one model up what I wouldh've bought.

I'd love to get the XSI, but my 300D is still doing great. The frame bursts are amazing on the XSI.

Hook up me up with Canon!!! lol

See what fits in ur hands well.
Back when i got my first dslr, i already had some nikon lenses. but they were manual, so fairly useless to me
When i held the canon digital rebel, it felt like crap in my hands. too light, to plasticy, too cheap, to small (didnt know where to put my pinky, it just kinda... fell off the bottom of the grip)
When i held the nikon d70, it felt perfect (for me). better build quality (thats my opinion, but it might be true since it did have a mg alloy subframe), fit my hand better, nice weight to it. etc.

Canon and Nikon are fairly neck to neck. No matter how much each side argues, the fact of the matter is, they're fairly equal.

It's usually more about the lens with that type of photography.

Whatever gets the job done, and done well.

Nikon
Canon
Hasselblad
Mamiya

It all depends on the photographer.
