Nice effect. If you did that with the photo of the blue bike (you know the one I mean?), would it look like a picture straight out of the archives? Maybe...?

(I have some pics of older relatives that have that fading, strange goldish stripe and creased, grainy effect--imho, makes them artwork when properly framed. )

I like the look, Peter.

Sharona,

I gave it a quick try on the picture with the blue bike, and I'm not really sure I like how it turned out. Granted, I simply ballparked everything, and it took under a minute haha, but with a little tweaking it might look better. Don't think it quite has that archive look just yet. Perhaps more desaturation and yellow/orange hue, as well as darkening up the image a tad. Anyhow, I gave it a try with the little time I had. :P

Also, did a quick self portrait because I was feeling fly...like a G6..ugh. :P

I see what you mean about the blue bike, and you're right. In my imagination, I pictured it to be a bit different, but it still looks alright (I kind of like the original a little better, though ). Good self-portrait, has a 'Cobainian' sort of mood, imho.

Thanks. Thats quite a compliment.

I like your work btw. Third last is very commercial, and my favorite.

Saw someone say slow moving and I decided to do another quick self portrait. Straight out the shower haha. One thing I've learned, lets leave modelling to the pro's lol.

HAHA Sharona, what an epic reply! And now that you mention it, I feel like my expression in that picture looks like I'm just about to throw a tantrum myself. Just glaring some poor helpless chap down, hands on my head in disbelief.

Thanks for the compliment. I can't help but feel something is off with it though. I think I shot too close to the chin, but for a guesstimate shot I should be happy I didn't cut the chin off completely lol.

Someone else needs to post a self portrait now. Who will it be?

Mc, my personal opinion is that its not a strong frame. I'm not really sure what the focal point of the image is. The trackwerks sticker seems to grab my eye. I'm all for going in closer and getting a tighter shot of something, but I'm left asking myself, why would I want to see this section of the car? What is so interesting about it?

There is too much going on for me as well. The heavy reflections in the metal, the sticker, the light (which is half cut off and sort of frustrates me), and the defrost lines which seem to be leading my eye to the sticker, but not quite. On top of that, its taken from an angle which is a common viewing angle.

Thats just my personal opinion though. Hope it didn't come off too harsh lol. Its not that its a bad photo. Its in focus, and the color balance is superb. I think its just the crop/composition that bothers me.
