My crappy new camera

Here are some samples I took today.

Shot from inside my car, so you can see some reflections on the left side of the picture.

Dynamic B&W mode.

I bought a Panasonic Lumix Lx3. Its a very nice camera indeed, especially for a compact p&s. I've always been a canon guy, and pretty much would not look at other brands. However, I'm glad I considered Panasonic.

This camera is no SLR, but it does well for its size. I wanted more outdoor shots, but its windy and cold outside.

I still miss my 40d so much, but I really love just carrying around a camera that can fit in my pocket.

What do you guys think? good, bad, take it back to the store..lol??

Sorry to hear you got bored/no time with your DSLR. It's an expensive hobbie. My brother did the same. Sold all his equip and gear and brought and $150 P&S.

PS. What's with the saran wrapped remote on the 2nd pic?

Not me, My mom has always done that. She still does it to this date. I guess she figures you won't get grease, and dirt on the remote. I don't really know the reason behind it.

Don't think I could go all the way down to a $150 p&s though.

Thanks.

No thanks, to canon p&s. I'd consider the Nikon P6000 before Canon at this moment in time. I was considering the Canon G10 before, but the Panasonic LX3 beats in every aspect. Wider lens, faster lens, smaller, lighter, better IQ, better noise handling (at equivalent ISO), higher video resolution (1280x720), these are all advantages for the LX3. Optical viewfinder, and more zoom are the only advantages of having a Canon G10 (imo).

I had my fuji film P&S and loved it, I just moved to a slr because it reached its limitations on the creative side. Still carry my fuji around sometimes.

haha my parents used to wrap the remotes in saran wrap, but they stopped that a while ago.. and im glad.. i have no idea behind the reason for it.

Its not like if u get the remote dirty it'll stop working.

I've always liked P&S cameras. Yeah, they don't take excellent pics like the DSLRs, but they take decent enough pics, especially the new ones. One good thing about them is that they are compact and you can just slip one in your pocket and be done with it.

Here's a sample of the 720p video from my camera. Too much glare from the sun, but I think it does a decent job, especially for something that can fit in your pocket.
