Do you print your digital images?

I was just organizing my libarary on the computer yesterday and i figured i have a ton of recently shot images that i would like to print and make an album somtime. Not that it was the first time i thought of this :-)

So how much printing do you do, how often and what is your preferred store?

I have tried Blacks, Walmart, Longos and Henrys and i like results from Blacks. Although WM prints are fine too when i am doing like 50-100 photos in one go and/or running around doing family chores and stuff. I am also fascinated by the idea of making pro looking photo books one day....only if i can spare some time out.

Discuss...

I have all my stuff organized, just never make the time to get them printed. I think Blacks does the best job, but I can't afford their prices unless they got a sale going on. I just got an email, Walmart has a special on $15 for 100 prints or something like that. So I should get some done. Last time I printed pics was in 06, thats the only bad part about digital, I hardly ever print the stuff. But if you can afford it, Blacks, if not, the others are fine, I think it just depends who's processing it on the other end. Just your luck basically! But I used to keep some shots in a seperate album like a portfolio book.

Blacks is well worth for those special pictures. However if it's just a regular picture then go the walmart, futureshop, or other route. Hell you can even upload your pictures to them and pick them up at a later time.

both times i have used walmart, the pictures turned out terrible. they looked like they had water droplets on all of them. they wouldnt refund my money either, now i use blacks only and the quality is stellar. i got a 14x11 that came out awesome on good quality paper too.

dont cheep out...pay the extra and be happy with you shots. imo

I printed some on Saturday!
My mom wanted photos of her dogs, so I printed some off for her and stuck them in a frame.
Here is my rundown:
Black's: Good quality, SLOW turn-around. Walked in one day with a CD at 9:30am asked how long to print 6 pictues, they told me to come back the next day at 2pm to get them. Their 1 hour service is rarely 1 hour. Uploaded at 12:00 pm, got photos at 4:30pm.
Shoppers: Good quality, no difference at 4x6 or 5x7. Walked in with the same CD from Black's, got the images in my hands in less than 10 minutes after I used their machine. Haven't had a quality issue, but wouldn't use them for someone's paying job.
Walmart: I've only had film developed from Walmart, and was impressed with their quality and speed. I'll have to try them for digital prints.

I don't print very many of my digital pictures, but if I were to do so, I'd be able to get it all done for free. That's because of the fact that I work in the industry so getting paper and ribbon, or, if I choose to print on Inkjet, getting cartridges is all free for me.

Darn, I just realized I should take advantage of this.

No, thermal. It uses ribbon (Y-M-C) plus clear coat. The quality of the prints is the same as the pictures from Walmart or Black's.

I have only once printed my Digital work, and that was at Shoppers. I tried having it printed at the Kinko's but the photo's turned out HORRIBLE. They had a massive blue hue to them. Shoppers on the other hand was much better in quality, but I have nothing to really compare it to, other then Kinko's. And anything is better then that place.

I'm going to go out this weekend and find something nice. Shoot it, edit it, then print it at 11x17 and see if my camera is any good.
Does anyone know if shoppers or blacks will print from a .tif ?

I guess it's one of the few perks of working for a company that manufactures printers, digital cameras, film, etc.
