I wouldn't mind giving up the rights to a few photos... It's worth it if you win.
It's not like you're giving up your entire portfolio... You choose what you want to give...

i just had the chance of reading what their contest rules were....totally rediculous and im glad i didnt submit anything. hindsight 20/20...i agree with Marty 100%. In case anybody submitted their photos...they might wanna read the following again:

"you irrevocably transfer, convey and assign to the LCBO all right, title and interest in and to your Photo Entry, in whole and in part, and all the intellectual property rights therein, throughout the world in perpetuity, including without limitation any and all copyrights and the registration, renewal, and derivative rights and you waive all moral rights and rights of attribution relating thereto"

so your photo may appear in one of their mags or material in the future...without any credit being given to you...or worse...they may come after you to take the photo down if you have it on display in your album somewhere online...bah

if you're not the winner, it's unlikely your photo is going to be used.
If it's a decent shot and you win, you get compensated for it.
Anyway, it's a contest, just like when you play the lotto, they can use your face on toilet paper if you win..
