Canon Repairs - Faulty Image Sensor

So my Canon A75 had a faulty image sensor. I picked it up a few weeks ago and it was taking pictures that were purple, blurry and streaky. I knew it was not the LCD screen as older pictures on the card looked fine.

There is a service notice covering quite a few camera's with this problem. The camera will be repaired regardless of warranty status if the issue is the image sensor. All you are responsible for is sending or dropping your camera at the Canon service centre in Miss. on Courtneypark Drive, as well as return shipping according to the service notice.

I sent my Camera in on March 26th, and it was back to me on April 3rd. Much better than the estimated 15-20 business days I was quoted. Best of all, I was not charged for the return shipping. So I had an out of warranty camera repaired that otherwise would have been a paperweight. I doubt it would have been worth it to have had it repaired at my cost.

The service notice is on the Canon support section of the website and covers quite a few p & s camera's and some others too.
