any ideas on what it could be?

hrmmm...how's the oil level and condition?
the evinrude e-tec will do that when it runs low on oil (though it is a 2 stroke) and cut the rpms to 1000-1500rpm to save the motor

is at any worse when you punch it?...melted my cat once, causing a loss of power with more fuel

or it could even be an 02 sensor :S
which would be odd for an 06 toyota

took it to lexus, they couldnt find anything, should the obd have cleared to proplem like that?, i thought it stored check engine lights. he also got gas just before he got onto the highway. the cap may not have been closed all the way....the only strange thing is that the VSC traction control light can on.

I wonder if a traction control sensor went or shorted out traction control limits the speed at which you can go so you don't spin your tires

check out the Lexus/Toyota forums, not much help you can get from a Honda site.

I work for a lexus/toyota dealer in oakville and genrally on lexus vehicles when you get all those symptoms at the same time it is most likely an oxygen or air/fuel ratio sensor.
