New owner of an old Civic
I bought a '96 Civic CX (186,000 original km) from my sister for $0.13 (yes, 13 cents) ... She listed the sale to me as $1 so all I had to do was pay the tax when we transferred the ownership.
I'm not a car person, I know next to nothing about car parts or how things work, but I know my new-to-me baby needs some work and I figure a good way to get that work done in my budget is to learn how to do the "easy" things myself. After some web searching I figured this forum was a good place to start learning stuff as there seems to be plenty of knowledgeable people here!
I plan on keeping the car as stock as possible. No body kits, no lowering, no racing modifications, or any of that other fancy stuff.
So yeah, hi! I will probably ask a lot of questions, and probably not have a lot of answers to any one elses questions ... but hopefully that will change in time!

Welcome to the club.
It's great that your are willing to learn to do basic maintenance on your own car. I always urge people to do this. By doing your own oil changes and other basic tasks, you can save a huge amount of money, and you will learn a lot about your car in the process.
