It's time...

Finally posting! Can't even remember if I officially posted on here before.

I've been lurking on here for a while. I have an '03 Civic LX sedan, 5 speed, bone stock except for a K&N drop-in. Had it since about '07 (bought with 34000kms), and now it's up to almost 200 with no problems.

I'm just buying an '04 Si coupe. So with 2 Civics in the fam, I figured I'm going to start playing with the coupe very lightly. I'll go back to lurking for answers for the most part, but I may PM or ask questions here and there.

Gone out of the house for for long days at work and 2 kids at home, I'm not online as much as I'd like, but winter's coming, so we'll see what happens!

Careful buying a used Si. A high Km Si is a bad investment.
Good luck, and enjoy trolling the forums!

You can't plant a bomb like that without details! LOL

I have details on the car going back about a year - my trusted mechanic recommended the car to me. I'm not paying much for it. The car's been unmolested and well maintained. Only mods were audio, tint and visors. The mileage is high and the engine was recently rebuilt. What should I be looking out for?

My '03 made me think it wouldn't be a bad bet. Only issue on that car is that I'll be shopping for front struts soon.

You sure it wasn't abused? Why was it rebuilt? And sorry for all the questions I feel like a CSI today...

Glad to see you posting. Welcome

My STI engine was a rebuild too...
$14000 later subaru has also rebuilt my engine... and transmission.
But it as a shell, and expect things to go horribly wrong. The longer things go without a problem is all bonus time.

Howdy!

I was under the impression a rebuild was better than a swap? I had a different car a few years back and had a rear main seal leak. A friend and I rebuilt it and it was unstoppable for a while. Thanks for the heads-up, tho. At least I know to give her some solid TLC out the box. I'll keep lurking to see if I can find other issues to look out for.
