Hello everyone,

I don't have a car, but I'm planning to buy one that is easiest and cheapest to maintain, and DIY-repair. So far the the internet tells me it's a 6th generation manual transmission Civic!

I'm in the midwest right now but would move to Canada before the end of the year.

I don't plan to mod the car at all, just keep it in a good working condition with OEM parts, as much self-labor as I can. I'm willing to learn as much as possible. In fact I already have gotten a hold of 96-00 Civic service manual.

I have very minimal toolset right now. But I'm up for building a collection of essential tools. Also I wonder if there are DIY garages in Canada (or if there is such a thing at all) where you can take your own car, bring your own parts, and do the work.
