got a free civic! need some advice though...
 

Hello everyone!

As luck should have it, my grandpa had a 96 civic hatchback that's only got about 145,000K on it and he just gave it to me! The thing was hardly ever used and looks great, but for whatever reason the automatic tranny is slipping and lurching to the point where it's pretty scary to drive.

Since the car was free and [aside from the tranny] is in really good shape, I was just wondering if anybody knew of a good garage to take it to in Toronto to have it looked at. Since the automatic is pretty shot, I was thinking about doing a manual conversion rather than put another auto in it. I'd do it myself but I'd rather spend a bit of coin and make sure it's all done properly. I can see myself babying this little car for a long time, 15 years old and it still looks awesome. Any advice and help you guys have would be amazing!
