Checking in from B-Town

Hey all! Saw this forum while researching all things "civic" on-line as I am looking to purchase a new (to me anyway) Honda Civic. I am not a car guru by any means but as it has tuned out, I seem to have become addicted to Honda Civics by circumstance or divine intervention or something??

Currently own a '98 DX Hatchback that I bought new. It has been, without question the best value of any car I have ever owned. Engine and drive train are still strong but pretty much everything else is dead or dying so, time for something newer. Started the "get another car process" considering a few different makes/models but quickly drifted back toward the Honda Civic.

So; I have narrowed my search down to the Civic Coupe Dx-G trim as it pretty much has all the usable options I would need/want. I perfer the coupe as it looks better and I don't carry alot of stuff or people around so two extra doors are not necessary for me. My question to those of you who are more in the know about Civics; Is there any major differences in model years '07 to '09 or even '10 that I should be aware of, other than minor trim variations or something? I will be looking at only manual trans. option cuz; well - just wouldn't feel right or be any fun with auto. trans. :D

Also; rather than "giving" my old DX Hatchback to the dealer (if I end up buying from a dealer); should I consider keeping it and parting it out maybe? I'd be getting nothing from a dealer for it and perhaps there's a decent market for usable parts in the GTA area for this car

Any input here would be appreciated.

There are a lot of knowledgeable members around here when it comes to Civics, so hopefully you'll be able to glean some good info.
Enjoy the forum~!
