Honda CBR600 insurance
 

hey

my friend just got his m license and has been practicing on his dads bike for quite some time

he wants to get a CBR but so far insurance is killing him he applied for a quote (from Jevco...?) and they gave him 12410 a year (so about 6200 for a season)

i think he should just stick with a car but he wants a bike so i was wondering if anyone can shed some light and also how much insurance do you pay for your ride (motorcycles only)

as for the insurance, good luck. im 22 and i am stuck with a 600 katana because it isn't a Sport bike, its a sport touring. Any of those high output sports bikes you pay a premium to insure until you turn 25. they wanted 6500 for me with a 600rr so i had no choice but to say no.

Your buddy should either wait for his 25th bday, or get a bike with less cc such as the suzuki gsx500f, i heard were better to insure. 600cc and up they will bend you over as your buddy is finding out.

Another option is having his dad insure the bike and have him as an occasional rider until he builds up a better star rating. only problem with this route is if your buddy gets into trouble...daddys on the hook for it.

i just went through this same issure, i have an 06 katana 600 (some call it a chicks bike but it still holds its own) i am 22 and i pay 1800 for the year. Most consider this a good deal, and thats under TD insurance.

his dad doesnt have his m license will he still be able to go under his dads policy?

hes also having a hard time finding insurance so far jevco was the only one but he used kanetix and had to lie about his age?

does anyone know any insurance companies that would insure someone under 20?

try state farm. im 27, clean record. no tickets or accidents. 2001 r6. 1200 a year. and if i bring my 2 2000 civics to them they'll do it for 85 bucks a month. i pay 320 a month for my cars and 103 for the bike. but the cars are with td. i called them they wanted 4600 bucks for the bike alone!!! wtf!!! state farm said 400 tax in for the 2 civics and bike.

what kind of coverage do you have on the bike if you dont mind me asking?

i know being over 25 has a big role. I swear from my buddy trying to get insurance its just been hit and miss, its almost like whatever they feel like that day

Google Mike Francis at State Farm they`re in Georgetown. Super friendly people there and they gave me a pretty good price and they insure a lot of Toronto bikers.

No coverage.. only 1mil liab.

They are by far the cheapest, but I haven't had a good time dealing with them. Very dis-organized IMO.

State Farm in Newcastle Ontario. Talk to Katherine. I am M2 35 years old, one 10 over ticket. I did move my house, 2 cbr's, datsun 280Z, 2008 Honda Civic, 2010 Chev 4x4 truck over to them.

My 2006 1000RR is just over 1000 a year. My wife who is also M2 35, no tickets, costs 830.00 a year on a 2004 600RR.
