Gallagher 08-Aug-2008 09:55 AM

or i can pay the 5,000-10,000 fine if I got caught?

i dont understand this logic from insurance companies LOL

jdm2nr 11-Aug-2008 02:02 PM

hmm are you sure its not 20,000 fine plus demerit points?

i was quoted the same amount, full g, m2, 21, male, sucks

like i said in another thread all bike meaning sport bike except the sv650s ninja 500 and cbr125 have now been blacklisted. most companys will not touch anyone who wants to start a new policy. on my r6 my broker quoted me $8500 a year for just the basic coverage. i am 32 no tickets no claims and live in tim buck to. thats why i went to state farm, and let me just say all they car about is the purchase price and the size of the motor. i was going to get an 02 gsxr 1000 and my first quote was $1100 a year. then found out the ike was a write off so went to plan b and got an 01 r6 and pay $88.85 a month so when getting a true sport bike call state farm but there is a few catchs.

if you have a ticket or a claim or demerit points they mostlikly won't touch you.
check the thread about the list of insurance companys there are lots out there just do your home work. and when they give and obserd quote ask why.
my 2 cents

chris_v2 19-Aug-2008 07:21 PM

Steve.. why don't you talk to me about these things?

You'll pay around $2000, if not less.. i forget how old you are. Just get no coverage and 1mil liab.

You just have to find the right broker. And matt is right.. if you have a ticket or two.. g/l getting something reasonable. Next year I'm going to have 2 tickets (if they dont get dropped) on my record.. I'm trying to convince my dad to get his license so I can register my bike under this name!

1niceSi 20-Aug-2008 06:29 AM

I don't know about bikes being blacklisted?

27, GM2, no tickets.

1000rr = $158/month

State Farm

Gallagher 20-Aug-2008 06:30 AM

27, key.

94civic 21-Aug-2008 12:30 PM

05CivicSi 21-Aug-2008 01:22 PM

Saw a guy try to run from the cops in Hamilton last night. Wonder if he made it.

Gallagher 21-Aug-2008 01:27 PM

on a bike?

05CivicSi 21-Aug-2008 02:46 PM

yup

05CivicSi 21-Aug-2008 02:48 PM

flew past the cop (at the end of a side street) at 100 plus, easily. Cop took off. He ducked up a side street, come back down to Main a few block later, cop no to far behind. I pass him as he's waiting to get back on Main, look back and see the cop come around the corner sideways.

05CivicSi 21-Aug-2008 02:48 PM

A nice example of why bike insurance is so high.

Gallagher 21-Aug-2008 02:52 PM

yah obvi lol

the_girl 26-Aug-2008 08:10 PM

Did you know that the provincial minimum required for liability is only $250,000 .... that drops your rate drastically.

Just an FYI
