just wondering if anyone has had and experince with million trading or Nuak,
looking at getting a 1988 Honda CBR 250R

anyone delt with Paul? went by Nuak today, and fell in love...
Looked at every bike there, sat on the gixxer, the 1992 CBR and then the YZF250s and thennn..........the 1988 single headlight CBR250 Hurricane, what an amazing bike, i fell in love with it. it had the most comfertable riding pos. out of all the bikes.

it was ither low-sided or dropped at some point in its life, scratchs on the front brake, muffiler and pegs told me the story.

asked paul if he could start it, fired up first try, what an amazing sound! i love the wherring.
Some pitting on the frame in places, but manly clean, the rims and forks are showing the worst of it, but i fell in love today!

Paul says 3300, but im sure i could say 3000.

im going to be as unbiased as possible:

both places have had their stories of nightmares, and happy customers.

With Paul, you have to remember he is only an importer, he doesn't know the bike inside out.

Especially for an older bike, this might be a concern. If you're serious about this bike I would go as much research about the mechanics about it.

I would also suggest taking the bike apart during the off season to inspect all parts.

Its not good that there is pitting on the frame....
take some pics and show them.. im interested to see this pitting

im also looking for a bike, but a cruiser, look around....ALOT

1988 that bike well soon be hard to find parts for...espicially if your importing them.

and being an R platform your still gonna pay in the ass for insurance.

You could buy a newer Ninja 250 for about the same price. Heck a CBR 125cc is around $3500 for an 08

The GSXR,CBR,FZR 250 inline 4s have about 45 hp. Modern Ninjas have 23 hp. Check with a dealer for parts. Also check with the insurance on cost and if they will insure them.

If I had the cash to spare the VFR400 would be mine. A baby brother for my 2001 VFR800

think seriously before you actually buy it, i've owned a nsr250 and tzr250 both late 80s models and I gotta tell you they were a bitch. When they ran properly they were great , but when something goes wrong it sucked big time. Parts were impossible to get locally, everything had to be ordered online and usually means weeks of downtime. Oh and my nsr never ran properly even after cleaning the carbs many times. I think the octane requirements were too high for Canadian gas.

Sure it may have more HP, but how much down time will you have when you have to replace parts? Ie. How long would it take to get a new starter, carb parts, or charging system fix, etc. It's a 15year old bike and YES it will need parts. In the end your $3000 bike will be more $$$ in replacement parts, and the extended down time. I bet in a couple years you'll see these bikes for cheap in the trader.

I would find a older 500cc or 600cc, or venture over to two stroke if you want the power.

keep looking to much for a old bike. You can get that 125 cbr rr 06 used for $3500
and you won't need to fix something on it all the time just ride. i have my dads old 84 yamaha 650 i fix it more than i ride the thing.

honda supposed to introduce 2 new bikes to Canada this year. might be a 400RR!! hold off on the 20 yr old bikes!

i know exactly wat ur trying to do u want this bike so that u have something different from the rest of the 250cc class entry level bike available here in Canadian motorcycle market i can totally understand wat ur going thru i myself was thinking gettin one of this bikes specially the 2-stroke 250cc model good entry level bike with cheap to insure from ive been hearing not only from this furom but in other as well is that try to avoid bikes that wasnt available here n Canada because the older the r the more problem ur gunna have & trust me with this bikes the parts on this bikes are not readily available unless u have a complete machine shop to make ur own parts then ur ok but if just regular guy like us would b next to impossible or months to obtaine small parts that r coming from japan unless u have a family/friends that reside in Japan then ur luck. All i can tell u s try to get a bike that was offer here in Canada just keep urs eyes open as the market for bikes now that riding season is almost done will b flooded with used cheap bikes this is the perfect time to buy around fall so just keep looking ull fine a good one that will fit u the most
