have the Ducati's become more reliable?
I think they look and ride great but definitely require more attention than the Japanese bikes |

I think they look and ride great but definitely require more attention than the Japanese bikes exactly thats why they are only good to look at in magazines, i love ducati too, but $$$ and i dislike the sound of their engine, monotone and spaceship like, although always one of the best looking. |
I love the looks and engineering of the Duks. They put a lot of style in their products. The earlier models needed more TLC than their Japanese counterparts, but Ducati has closed the gap in that area a LOT. The one thing they did that I HATED was the return spring on the side stand a few years ago. You had to hold the side stand in place while you leaned the bike over and as soon as the bike was taken off the side stand it shot back up. So many Duk's hit the ground because of this it was rediculous.

You know how most kick stands, you kick them down and they stay down and you lean the bike over onto the stand...well these ones you have to hold them down with your foot while you lean the bike on the stand. They are spring loaded to stay up no matter what. They don't stay down on their own. As soon as you lean the bike up straight the stand springs back up immediately. So if someone nudges your bike while it's parked and it's enough to take some of the weight off the stand, it springs up and your bike falls over.
Seems like a stupid design to me. |
oh... thats wierd.... i guess its a safety thing
|
i like ducati's but i would also like a hybusa
|
i love the sound of the 1098 - very aggressive and growlie (is that a word LOL)
