any opinions on 1980 Interseptors?

looking at buying a bike, buying a older bike would be better from an insurance stand point, and total cost, wouldnt mind rebuilding a couple bikes aswell.

any way, a 1984 honda interseptor 750 looks really nice for an older bike, enough power and the price is right,

any opinions?

cheers

Dex

honda

older bikes are great made tough easy to maintaine & very easy to work on but the draw back is that the older they are the hard it is to find parts for them so heads up

they had cam problems...they burn out due to oil starvation...later years got better.

are you sure about the insurance thing?
check and find out.

the intercepts were HEAVY as hell....

Dexst 09-Sep-2008 03:18 PM

yeah the intercepts are nice, but BIG. i found a clean 1989GSX-R 250, gunna go look at it this week. yes i know parts will be a bit** to find, but its more of a project bike/summer heater than anything else.

OPINIONS?

I used to have an 85 500 back in the day. A nice overall bike. There's someone on kiji london selling an 83 750 for $500. I would be all over this but I have my eye on an old RZ350 that's minty fresh.

grey bikes

thus grey imports bikes are great wish we have thus bikes here love the 2-stroke sportbikes like NSR, RGV, TZR also thus 4-stroke 250 & 400cc like CBR, VFR, GSXR, FZR, ZXR but unfortunately the never came to NOrth American market so hadr to find & if u do find one in decent condition be prepare to pay more for it not to mention the hassle to find parts for this bikes unless u have relatives/friends that leaves in Japan other than that this are great bikes for projuect if u decide to go ahead with that GSXR 250 good luck to u have fun with it

parts availability is going to be a HUGE issue

also its from 1989... thats old man.
For the money get a ninja 250.

trust me... unless you have patience, time and money
a JDM isn't a wise move..
