So I made a temporary switch to V-dub...

...temporary because I miss my EG so much that I am 100% going back to Honda after I mingle in the VW community.
TCC has been a huge part of my daily life, but this doesn't mean I'm leaving....I'll be lurking and sharing the knowledge

If you see me come say HI

2004 Golf GTi VR6 - 24v
Only 80xxxkm, piked her up for a steal. Planning on selling her in a year or so for the same $$$ and piking up a S2000. Or at least something that doesn't burn such a huge amount of gas!!! $0.85/L please stay for a while

Nice dub, I've driven 12valve and 24valve vrs, they are nice but gas consumptions aren't nice lol. Should have gone for 1.8t. Driven my buddies, it pulls real nice. And its better on gas than vr [and faster]

Yeah but when I sell this I have $10k in my pocket, then it's not too hard adding another $5k and buying a decent S2K.

I almost got the special edition 2004 GLI 1.8t but the guy was a dumbass and made me wait 3 weeks, then told me he has a lein on the car and I should register the car under my name with his lein still on it
Something in this universe just doesn't let me get a turbo car...I've tried 3 times and all fail!
A 1.8t is only faster with work done to it (94 octane tune, bigger downpipe, intake, exhaust) and then it ends up having the same gas consumption as a VR.

Mice chose of car. The 1.8T i fine are slow as hell. one of are customer at work has one running 18PSI on it, and i did not fine it pulled that hard at all. I find the VR6 is way better then the 1.8T.

LOL I've seen these cars sell for $3000-4000. If anyone pays you $10K for that, send him my way - I'll sell him my '90 Civic for just a million bucks. In return, I will give you an agent fee of 10% of my proceeds.

Anyways, I hope this dub of yours drives nice. I was shopping dubs last summer cuz I wanted a 'cool' car for cheap and all of them drove awful (the noise harshness vibration levels were unacceptable, everything shimmied creaked groaned rattled and squeaked) and the interior plastic was the sort of thing your rubbermade garbage can is made of.

I hope you have good luck with yours... some are great, some are awful. Cross your fingers! BTW, what's the 1st digit of your vin #? Is it W, 3, or 9? ... W you lucked out

haha! I actually looked at a 2004 A4 6-speed but decided to go with this one. Audi's are nice, but I'm a student and I can still actually do work on a Golf repair and maintenance wise. Anything happens to an Audi I'm paying out of my *** to fix.

Told you, I'm so going back to Honda. My first car was a Honda and it's in my blood.

Buddy! Are we talking about MK4's here or a 1990 MK2, or your 1990 Civic? Go on vwvortex and autotrader and find me any MK4 good condition without 300xxxkm for $3000 - 4000 and I'll give you %10 as an agent fee

ummm i'm not your buddy. and yes, I went to go look at a bunch of dubs, there were two 2000, two 2001, one 2003, all between $3-4 grand. three of the five were 2.oh, one was a 1.8T, and one was a VR, one of them was in an accident, I forget which. the 2003 was the one with high miles, it had 200 kms on it.
