personally i think they look stupid..

yup... as I recall it was for an airless tire that could never run flat... the pictures are of the prototype to show the inside, but the final product would have sidewalls so it would look normal

I heard about these a while ago......and they are still ugly as sin!

As a joke I'd throw a steel bar threw a tire while the car was moving.......I wonder if it would have the same effect as when you used to throw a hockey stick in a kids bike spokes.
