My New 08 S2000CR
Just bought this car brand new. Owned a 2000 civic long ago and it started my love for cars. I tooled around that car and broke everything and by the end I was able to swap the the motor the engine/tranny for a b16a2 and did the auto to manual conversion at the same time. Since then I moved on to a TSX and now this s2kcr. A lot of people have mixed feelings toward this specific model, but after driving an ap1, ap2 base model and this cr, I was sold right after the test drive. There have been no modifications other then a usa spec ipod interface, hard wired navigation, piaa ultra white reverse bulbs, white led license plate bulbs, white led interior lighting. I went kinda crazy with the white lighting after seeing how good it looks in our new lexus gs350 awd. Nothing else other then replacing the engine oil, tranny and diff with synthetics after 7500 kms. No plans for other modifications. I picked up a set of ap1 rims that I painted flat black for winter use...not a modification though. Here are some pictures...

Haha. I've done some research and checked the audi boards and maintenance is definitely killer outside warranty. Which would not matter much to me because I'd buy new and have it under warranty, but the depeciation would kill me. I do not argue that it is probably an awesome Make. I am more of a Lexus Honda kinda guy. Have a civic, an s2k and a gs350awd!

Ya, this car has lots of options modification wise. My cars generally stay pretty stock with only subtle modifications. If this was a summer only car, I would lower it a bit. This car will stay just the way it is. Exhaust sounds great and is actually a little loud for my taste so nothing will be done there. Performance is adequate so I don't think I will be doing any f/i.

Yes I paid cash! I actually got it for quite a bit less then US msrp. Honda is, most dealerships don't care. The dealership knew I was Canadian, arranged all the documents, sent my papers to the border, arranged temporary driving plates, picked me up from the airport, took me to lunch and I was on my way home! They said they needed a US address to put on the paperwork and as long as it was one from outside the state of purchase, they would not care to verify it. I was told to "make one up from out of state". I actually have a US address as well so I gave them that one.
Dealers want money. Honda can try enforcing all the rules they want, it wont change anything. I even negotiated an extended warranty which covers me in the states. As I am in New York from Monday to Thursday, warranty concerns can be handled there. It's a Honda so I don't expect to even have to go in for warranty work!
I'd like to point out that NY state dealers offered poor deals in terms of taking money off MSRP. Go further into the states and you find amazing deals!

That's great to hear.. which state did you purchase this from? I have an uncle in Ohio so I could always arrange something using his address if needed.
