Mitsubishi Evolution X - Welcome to Canada

So finally the sedan is on the canadian soil. these photos were taken from another forum..link as follows. It would be interesting to see how the various models will be priced at.

Personally....i think the car looks too busy yet unique in styling but i thought of the same when the new civics arrived and then they grew on me. the performance should be top notch..specially with the double clutch gear box and the 4B11 turbo motor.

I don't think it looks too bad. Very aggressive look and it is a bit busy.

I work at Mitsubishi...
We're expecting them Febuary 08
My dealerships owner was invited up to Ottawa a couple weeks ago to pretty much beat one into the ground at a track.
I heard of pricing to be around the $50,000

lol...50000$$?
Thats a lot.

I like the cars but just think what else you can get for that price.

The 135i's are coming out Febuary also. (as far as I have been told)
And they will be starting at round 35000$$ with the same power.

Also my boss was down at a BMW assembly plant beating the hell out of the new M3's.
Can't wait till we get them in.

Well dont quote me on the $50Gs. its just the word ive been hearing. Theyre comin out with 3 different models of the EVO X. Different power and trim levels. It was the $50G price tag i heard on the Top model.

Mitsubishi isnt exactly priced the same as a Honda. Take the 2008 Eclipse Spyder, V6, fully loaded. When everything is said and done you're looking around $38-42Gs.

So The EVOs pricetag is kind of expected.

When everything is said and done, on an EVO X you'd probably save 6-8Gs
But you'd have absolutely NO warranty once it hits canadian soil.
Mitsubishi refuses to offer warranty for imported vehicles from the states to canada.

If youre plannin to buy a EVO 8 or 9, US prices ive seen anywhere from 19000 to 26000.
But good luck importing those into canada.

I suspect the Evo X will outperform an STI on the track. That's just my opinion. That's why I would pick one over a Subie. But as far as looks go... STI all the way.

I was unaware there were more then one kind of EVO.
Can't they just make one like and STi and be done with it.
Why does there need to be three?

Is it so people can buy the cheapest one and still be able to say they own an EVO?

pretty much lol
Like the base model EVO is going to have Ralliart seats, 5 speed manual tranny.
But the high model will have the BBS wheels and Recaro interior, 6 speed auto/manual with shifter paddles, etc.

the evo x is expected to be launched in four different trims (just like evo 9 and 8)...the two trims with the base GSR plus two with the MR trim. the 50grand price tag is not surprising..considering a fully loaded STI sells for that much here in canada. it SUCKS BIG TIME tho when you see the US prices...and who is coming up with the 6-8 K difference only...its going to be more like 10-11K. the STI difference was a rediculous 12K (50-38K).

following is a list of trims and info i was able to find..

A00 Base GSR 5MT
A11 Base GSR 5MT w Sight and Sound package
A13 Base MR
A12 MR w Technology package

MR Adds:

Twin Clutch Sportronic Shift Transmission (6spd TC-SST) with magnesium steering wheel shifter paddles
BBS forged alloy wheels
Bilstein shock absorbers and Eibach springs
Two-piece brake rotors
Hands-free Bluetooth cellular phone interface system with voice recognition
HID headlamps
Large type rear wing
Steering wheel audio controls

GSR Sight, Sound and Spoiler Package adds: HID headlamps, large rear spoiler and the Rockford-Fosgate® 650-watt (max.) Premium Sound System with 10-in. subwoofer, plus a 6-disc in-dash CD changer with MP3 capability, and SIRIUS® Satellite Radio and a six-month service subscription.

MR Technology Package adds: Rockford-Fosgate audio system with subwoofer and SIRIUS Satellite Radio with six-month service subscription; 30-gigabyte hard disk drive (HDD) navigation system with 7.5-inch touch screen and music server function; Mitsubishi Multi-Communication System, and the FAST Key™ entry system.

the twin clutch shifting has to be the SEX...a good compensation for any human error with the regular stick and clutch combo. i cant wait to test drive it.

Despite the fact that someone who is not a car enthusiast would think it costs half of what it actually does, and it has a very "boy racer" image, it is still a great car if you love driving. And although I have always favoured the STi over the Evo, they are both incredible driver's cars.

I like it, but I think the new Subaru hatchbacks are growing on me a lot more than this style.
