IT LIVES...Project Begins
Its a 1973 Civic, Sliced and Stretched, its been sitting in my automotive shop(at school) for about 10 years, and today i figured, what the hell lets start the **** up.
Put The Battery Charger On and started stripping the interior out, the engine is most likely a 1.5L, SOHC, and a manual 4-Speed to boot.
WE lost the key for the ignition, so i had to drill out the cylinder and try to hot wire it, after that failed, we had a key made by a lock smith.
The gas that is in it has been sitting for about 3yrs, and is toasted, smells like dill pickle haha.
So after putting the lock cylinder back on, and half the dash back together, we clicked the starter over....nothing but the starter clicking over....so, I took the key out, but it in gear and manually turned the engine over(i know it isnt good to do) thru the wheels.
Got back in, And turned the key... Cough Cough...LIFE! IT HAS LIFE IN IT STILL!
Didnt run that day, but atleast i knew it could.
So today, i put the charger back on and waited, and waited, and waited.
With the assistance of my teacher, i turned the key, it coughed and my teacher poured some Primer Thinner down the carb, AND....BAM it coughed, sputtered and coughed some more, but it ran! it acually revved!
Only lasted about 10seconds, but i was amazing...filled the shop up with carbon and smoke, the battery was even smoking.
If you look closely, it has a gull wing door.
im covered in dirt, oil, corroision, carbon, who knows what ever, and the biggest smile.
So, after the weekend, more work to begin, PLEASE POST SUGGESTIONS and yes im going to take more snaps after the weekend
