The California Highway Patrol is excited for the car's debut, which should help with the agency's current "very energetic recruitment push," said Mark Garrett, public affairs recruitment sergeant for the CHP's Southern Division. "We know how effective and influential NASCAR is," he told Inside Line. The black-and-white CHP-design Fusion will be driven by 2003 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series champion Travis Kvapil. A set of gold-and-black Goodyear Eagle tires almost perfectly matches the CHP logo that decorates the hood. This will be the California Highway Patrol's first venture into Cup sponsorship.
