fa1se's 95 eg

Hey guys what's up been awhile since Ive been on the fourms. So here's the current project Im working on when I have time and money.

The car has a new hood, new doors, custom front fenders, shaved license plate in tailgate. I was going to order some wheel arches to fix the rear but my problem goes deeper!! Im going to have to repair the inner wheel well. Also I have quite a nice hole in the floor pan after I removed the carpet and poked away at it like a kid haha.

Scrap yard said $50 for a driver's side floor pan which I can weld back in. Also need to get new rockers. I know many of you will say get another car but I dont have that option. I have the tools and experience to fix so Im going too. Just need some advice on one panel which attaches on the insde.

Here's some pics :)

Front view nothing changed

So there you have it.. I would GLADLY appreciate any positive feedback. Anything negative isnt NEEDED on here. Were all civic owners :)

I'll upload my pics of the cut lines on the floor pan and see what you guys think. Ive forgotten the past and have moved past and Im left working with this. So no Im not getting another car haha. Im a welder and am pretty familer with some body work.

Looks like you have your work cut out for you. At the same time, if you're a welder, this should be fun, lol. I would personally avoid putting fiberglass on the car. Especially on the front...if you get tapped or something, the fiberglass will break, but the metal will just bend which if fixable, could be remedied with some paintless dent repair.

Good luck. Keep us updated with pics!

Yes I do. It will be fun, I dont look foward to it but it'll be a good project.. Thanks I read that somewhere actually. And you can trap in moisture also.

Thanks man will do

I wish I had welding skills! Nice to see that u are gonna fix it rather than junk it, keep us posed.

holy **** , havent seen that name in a while. Hows it going buddy, Seems like you still have your work cut out for you with this project. did you ever hear anything more about team rukus (jay)?

i'll check in to see the progress forsure.

PurpleStuff 22-Mar-2011 11:40 PM

wasn't this the stolen hatch?

anyways, looks like a fun diy project. how did it get so rusted out??

with that floor pan, i could've sworn you came from the Flintstones era.

YAY positive feedback encourages me :) Ya I took an apprenticeship to become a Boilermaker and work with steel all the time.

Yes bmw lights.. They are massive I'll attach a few pics.. I had them fit up on a shell. Need to make my own rad support.. Drivers side light is close to headers so I need to wrap in high temp gasket cloth stuff lol. And the passenger side well Im lucky I have the mini rad. Need to make new support and move the rad a few inches to fit the projector. These lights are huge but give the car a custom and agressive look.

Whats up Tyson.. Its going waiting to hit a shutdown at a refinery then work on the ride. Ya lots of work ahead which I dont mind. Im happy to have a civic with a motor and 4 tires :) After all the stuff Ive been through.

That name I wish not to speak of. Just moved on bro. **** happens and I learned from it.. Have to make it out to a meet soon.

fa1se 22-Mar-2011 11:46 PM

Stolen hatch was recovered but NFG !! Too many parts missing and wires cut. Some inlet in the firewall was bent.. Missing brake lines.. BAH !! I took off the panels and whatever and scrapped it.

Ya It'll be a fun project been awhile Ive been wait for a civic. Im happy with a civic.. This car I have now was only intended for the motor. I paid $1200 for the car and it had a b16a which I was gonna throw in other hatch. But that didnt pawn out to well. So this is what Im left with.

The flinestones !! LMAO thats funny man.. my nick name at work.. Flinst0ner my last name is Flynn.. I dont have brakes so I just use steel toes hehe

at least your dreams weren't completely taken away from you.

and as for the "gasket" wrap, i think you're talking about header exhaust wrap, right? well, that stuff will still get pretty hot, not as hot as bare steel, but not like the side of a toaster either.

holy shiit man. that's some serious custom work!

dreamr 23-Mar-2011 12:03 AM

Not really my style but definite props for the enthusiasm and uniqueness. Can't wait to see what it looks like when its done

I would gladly apprecaite all the hands on help I can get. Need time to start cutting and grinding away the rotten steel.. Wouldnt mind a hand come time fitting some pieces. Thanks a bunch guys..

Nice to come back on here and smile reading some posts hehe :) So here's what Im thinking of doing for my tail lights. Let me know what you guys think. Looks do-able but I think the best way to check is get a old stock tail light first. Its a BMW E46 tail light to kinda go with the BMW projectors.
