ef in progress

took the week off to do some work on the body of my ef prior to it going to the body shop for a coat of primer, paint, and clear..

im not expecting show results, more of my work was done to get rid of the areas showing red, (im getting just an exterior paint job) (i also now hate masking with a passion) and areas with surface rust.. fender had to be replaced as it was rotten..and frankly the wrong model or gen im sure as the body lines didnt totally match up..

will post some updates as i go along.. i hope to be driving her again by this weekend..

annoying how i miss driving her already..

criticism is welcome

kudos to alexander keith's for keeping me company throughout this endeavour..

im not painting anything on the outside... the reason im spending a week doing it this way is because they are not taking the car apart when they paint it.. just masking off certain areas and primer, paint, and clear.. hence me doing all the nooks and crannies myself..

jan..care to elaborate on your post though?

doggy is right.

2 different bases of paint could cause a chemical reaction - could endup with adhesion issues, bubbling, peeling, cracking, etc..

i'd only do the spots that arnt important, or that definately wont see a drop of the top coat layer of paint.

all the best, keep the pics comin!
