wierd engin hissing and jerkiy power????

wierd engin hissing and jerkiy power????
hi i was on my way home driveing like a good boy and i dropp my friend off and then my engine is acting all wierd
I set off at the lights it revs until 3000 then i have like no power at all its all jerky not agresive just like tapping the brakes slightly then the rev gets to 5.3 the vteck kicks in and all seems fine then 2nd gear no power between 3 and 5 then boom power again
so i wet home popped the hood and i can head a wierd noise like an air leak comeing from behind the intake or down the back of the motor the fan and engin noise were muffleing it but its from down the back somewere u think this could be causeing the loss of power this is the 1st time ever and it was 2 hot 2 start sticking my hand down there feeling pipes ????
any sugestions on what pipes 2 feel or places 2 look wen its cold again ?
any ideas guys ???
