Weird noise from the engine bay

Hey guys... whenever I'm idling for some odd reason theres a weird knocking noise comming from my engine bay, it sounds like something vibrating onto the hood (wich makes the noise louder)
Just wondering what you guys think it might be.... I've looked around and couldn't realy find anything.
I know its nothing major, just being picky about it.....

Thanks!

LMAO!!! lol yea i guess not....
Its not the heat shield because I got it removed...
it sounds more like something hitting my hood because of vibrations.

I'm due for my timing belt.... could that be it?

no your timing belt wouldn't be hitting your hood... i mean really nothing should be touching your hood when it's closed...

if your timing belt went you'd hear a bang and then your car would stop and your valves would be bent to shyte... u'd definatley know if that's what it was...

are you SURE it's from underneath the hood? not possibly underneath the car?

I know that my timing belt isn't hitting anything... just wondering if it could make a certain vibration before it goes....

Well it just happens when the hood is closed.... if i pop the hood open the sound for some reason goes away.

Or if I push down on my hood a bit.... the noise gets a bit louder.

If something is hitting the hood there will be marks on the underside. Check the underside of the hood for marks where the paint is scuffed or worn through and then you will find out what in the engine bay is touching your hood.

Out of curiosity, do you have an upper strut bar installed on your EJ?

its seems like something over in this area:

Didn't notice anything on the other side of the hood so i'm not sure what it could be.

Couldn't see if it was cracked, so temporarily I just adjusted the rubber peicec that the hood rests on. Stoped to vibrating noise, because the hood doesn't move as much anymore.
