Poor Mileage on new EP3
 

Hello,

I'm new here. I just purchased a 2003 EP3...I've been driving it for just over a week. I was told I should be able to get high 20 to low 30 mpg on a full tank. At the moment, I think it's draining more than my brother's Type S RSX (with a heavily modified/tuned engine).

So far, I changed the oil, put a new filter on...checked the sparkplugs...I'm new to the car, and I'm not sure what else could be causing the problem. Is there anything else I should do?

I also noticed I may have this inconsistent gauge problem that some seem to have with the car.

my past driving experience has me getting just under 8/100km in my 2003 ep3. and whats you actual fuel consumption? your perception of poor fuel economy is no replacement for a quantifiable measurement. go fill up your gas tank, reset your trip counter, drive till empty and fill up and measure how mow much gas you used for the distance you drove. the gas gauge is consistent, full tank of gas goes above the full mark, ill get 80k before the needle actually hits full.
