If you're really in a jam, you could use engine oil. However, I don't recommend it.

its jus my tranny is makin a noise when i dont press the clutch and then it goes away when i press the clutch. when i checked the level it was low. so i drained it and only .5L came out. so im hoping if i put new fluid in it that noise would go away?

nsxvtec 28-Feb-2010 02:49 PM

Sorry to say, but based on your description, low level of HMT fluid is not your only problem, but the noise sounds to be the clutch release bearing/fork assembly. Just my thoughts. You will probably still have the noise after you fill the tran.s to the correct level with the recommended fluid.

nsxvtec is correct. You either have a release bearing noise or ISB noise (input shaft bearing)
