I NEED HELP. on my honda accord.
 

Hey my name is Nick, im 20 years old. I bought this 89 honda accord with a b18c gsr motor. And im having some problems it burning oil and also black smoke is coming out from the tail pipe, i also found out that the computer for my engine is not right, it has a b16a computer in it is that normal or no. The car also has a low idle with started. The spark plus were also not the right ones for the car im sure they were b16a spark plugs, so i think the wires are not the right ones too. I went to do a tune up when i found all this out, i bought b18c spark plugs instead. im not sure if the guy had this car modded or what if anyone can help me out that would be great.

no, why whats your problem. ?

The ecu may be correct if it has been chipped and re-tuned with the b18c maps.

Plugs and wires are the same on GSR and B16 engines, so no issue there.

Most B-series hunda engines that have been driven hard or have high-mileage will burn oil. That's not unusual.

Black smoke means it's running rich. You need to find someone(a shop) who has the ability and knows how to tune chipped OBDI honda ecu's.

There could be other underlying issues, but without knowing anything else about the car, it's difficult to say.
