People do it different ways and there no real way to do it but there are some things that should be done for the average person

-Remove rims and put on a spare set or donuts to save your tires
-fill your tank and put some gas line antifreeze in it
-I remove the battery and store it inside
-Clean both the inside and the outside of your car then use a car cover, NOT a tarp.

I don't start my car at all during the winter and I just wait unitl spring. When spring rolls around give everyting a check over, belts, hoses, fluids before you start it.

very good advice.
I would also every so often go check and make sure no fuzzy critters have made a new home of your car. My brothers car had rabbits living in it and they ate through a bunch of wires.

how big is the gas tank on my 93. i haven't filled up gas yet cause i jus bought the car and it's sitting till spring. I have a half tank in there and need to kno the capicity of a full tank cause I need to put some fuel stabelizer soon. Tnks!

- jack the car
-remove the wheels
-place 4 jack stands on all jack points
-relieve car's fuel pressure
-wash car completly so rust doesnt start from salt stains
-put car cover over it

there are tons more things you can do.
ie. remove motor oil, antifreeze, gas, tranny fluid, blah blah blah

not necessary but nice to do because that way when you start her up back in the spring it will be like doing a maintanence at the same time.

for my car...I just put the winter tires\rims on it, and put it in the garage then you don't even really need a cover for it.....just incase for some reason I have to bring it out....I would rather be safe then sorry...just incase something happends to my mazda

biggest thing...for out door storing..I would say is condensation getting into your gas...but its easy to prevent by fillin your gas tank and making sure all your other fluids are at the right levels :-)
