Sorry to read that.
If you post up your results, one of the GearHeads might be able to let you know what is wrong or what the possible problem is, and also what you might need to do to try and repair the problem before going for your re-test. No guarantees, but it's worth a try.

Yeah, take Sharona's advice and talk to Mike (MPR) He's really cool.

Cheers!

seafoam your engine & do a tune up
if u need help doing it, come by to a east end meet with ur car.. and i'll assist you...or if u want i can come to ur place and run the seafoam there if its nicely ventilated

If he is saying he failed etest badly, seafoam will not help.
I'm willing to put money on either:
A. Most likely he doesn't have a proper catalytic converter.
B. Doesn't have proper software.
One or the other. But cannot tell until he posts his etest results.

Post up your results (limit and reading) and list of mods.

My B16 failed HORRIBLY back in january. Magna flow high-flow cat was the main problem. That and slow O2 sensor. Seafoam helped a bit, but not much.

Even after changing the cat, o2 sensor, and sea-foaming, still had to retard the timing to get it to pass... but that's also partly due to the full 2.5" exhaust system. The easier it is for the exhaust to pass through the cat, the cooler it will run and less effective it will be.

or you can pay a mechanic a little bit more and it passes with flying colours :)

I have a B16A with with no egr, no O2, no PCV and stock cat from 1990. Given I failed the first time but after lots of searching I found out my timing was to far advanced. Retard your timing 2 DEG and you should pass. This is what I did. Also argue for hotrod status.
