HELP! License plate bolt
Ok so I am a total retard when it comes to tools of any kind. I was replacing the plastic license plate frame at the back of my wifes car with a new one and one of the 2 screws was soooooooo rusted it completely broke off!
Now there is only one screw holding on her back license plate! I cannot get the broken piece out since its lodged right in the hole. The trunk only has 2 screws at the top and nothing pre-drilled for the bottom part to hold the lic plate. Can I get a garage to drill a hole at the bottom so at least it can be held in place by one on the bottom!! Where should I go? :o |
Just do it yourself no? Usually its just plastic underneath. What's one hole gonna do?

Let me re-state: myself and tools do not go together lol. |
Try a extractor bit from CT might just work think it costs like 20 dollars, or just drill a hole at the bottom like you mentioned. They sell these black square plugs/anchors that go into the hole and act like a achor for drywall but there flat cost $3

Honda dealer? really?
Take it to your local garage shop and see what they can do. What I would do: Drill the old bolt/screw out. Get a replacement bolt from canadian tire or home depot, and replace both bolts with new bolts. You wouldn't want to drill new holes, as those new holes won't be threaded, so the new bolt may not hold. |
