Help civic keeps stalling

hey guys i was just wondering,
my pops has a 98 civic, and every now and again while he drives it stalls or just cut out (mind u this is an automatic) and then it takes a while to start. we changed the main relay and the gas filter, distributor cap, rotor, plugs, air filter. were really confused.

Could be a faulty IACV (Idle air control valve)
Try a used one and drive around for a bit to see if it fixes the problem.

Also after it stalls and doesnt start, bang on the IACV with a hammer and then try to start the car. This will unloosen the flap inside.
