Well, here are the numbers from my failed emissions test today...could someone who knows alot please try to let me know what possibly could be wrong to make these kinda numbers?..

Limit reading result
HC ppm 82 140 fail
CO% .25 5.08 fail

at idle it failed on the 2 same things...just as badly...everything else was a pass..

Try doing a tune up. That should solve your problems. Change the spark plugs, wires cap and rotor and gas filter. Then go from there. For sure u need Tune up.

the guy mentioned something about an 02 censor too..how much do those things usually go for if i do need one, cuz it seems pretty obvious that i probably do since the 02 emissions were the highest on the test....and also, would it be a job that i could do myself (changing it) or does it have to be done at a shop?

i got an o2 sensor for $68 brand new from A&A discount parts in hamilton, part source wants $160 and honda wants $350. Changing an o2 sensor is definately something you can do. All you need is a 21mm wrench.

o2 sensor will cause the HC (hydro carbon = fuel from running rich) and the cat will fail in CO (cat failed to oxidise CO into CO2), so your looking at o2 sensor and cat, probobly 3-500 bux for new cat and o2 installed in shop.

21 MM wrench and lots of F%#*ing heat lol. Try getting an O@ sensor removing tool if your gonna do it yourself. Yeah Change your Cat too. Be suprised how much difference it makes

Just adjust your timing. Don't waste time and spend anymore $$. Go to a mechanic that has license drive clean repair tech or someone u know. Tell them to adjust your distributor and see if the readings can change. Maybe that's your only problem because u ain't failing large.
