Google how to get the trouble code from it (fairly easy procedure) ... Once you have the code(s) let us know.

just get it scanned ... If you have a mechanic you go to regularly he shoud be able to do it for free...

More than likely , it is a sensor ( maybe the 02 sensor)

Like scrid said get it scan .. You could also do it yourself , google how to do it without a computer .

Finding the ECU error codes - Honda Civic Forum

Personally i wouldnt do it that way , but it is up to you , there are tons of thread on how to do it ( what i gave you is just an example)

And by disconnecting your battery you are just resetting the code , meaning if there is a problem it will keep comming back , so really there is not point in resetting the baterry unless the light really bothers you

first of all...what kind of car do you have? if its pre-96 (95 or older) theres 2 blue connectors under the passenger side of the dash, behind the glove box. Grab a paperclip and put it in the connector that only has 2 wires and jump the wires. Now watch your check engine light as it flashes...ahh...**** it...

Let me google that for you

its a 98.

bring it to part source and they will scan it for free.

chinoBambeno905 30-Jun-2010 01:40 AM

part source? arnt they ghetto, and dnt they just sell parts not tech ****

Parts source is a hell of a lot better than guessing if it's your gas cap or IAT.

Go get it scanned, or jump the service connector (search on how to do that, it's been covered a thousand times). Pull the code than diagnose the circuit.

Part source is owned by canadian tire. It's basically a giant canadian tire automotive section. They sell everything canadian tire sells with regards to car stuff/parts. Didn't know they will scan your car for you though....
