emission test

hey guys

i have a b20b in my 99 civic stock everything else only thing is that my b20b is missing an air-temp sensor however my engine light never came on and nothing strange happened to my car because of it

i have to pass an emissions test to renew my stickers and i havent done a tune up in quite awhile and i recently changed my oil however it does need to be changed soon and previously i was a bit late on my oil change so my oil pan might be a bit dirty

im going for my test tomorrow any tips/does anyone know how much it costs and wheres a good place (not looking to bribe someone but looking for someone who wont rip me off) im going to take my car to brampton and back (pickering) before i go in and pour some of that guaranteed to pass stuff at CT.

BTW my cars considered a hot rod cuz i have a higher displacing engine (2.1 v.s. 1.6 litre) im trying to not be forced into doing a tuneup cuz money is a bit tight right now and my car runs normally (atleast to my knowledge)

How do you know it's missing the air temp sensor?

What exhaust do you have on it? Larger then stock diameter? High flow cat?

If it's running fine, no CEL, and it has a good cat, there shouldn't be anything to worry about. I wouldn't waste my money on any additives like you mentioned. You can retard the timing a bit to help reduct the NOx...

and i know its missing the airtemp sensor because there isnt one on the IM and the other one by the intake was broken

as for finding a place with a good price....it's all government regulated so the price for an emissions test at any location will be the same (around $30) unless you want to find a place that will do it for cash.....it's around $30...save yourself the hassle.

in order for it to be considered a hot rod, it has to be on your ownership, and ins. If you need an e- test let me know, I can do one for you.
